John Clifford wrote this very interesting comment on his Facebook page:

"Here’s a silent video of Baryshnikov doing the man’s 2nd Variation from THEME AND VARIATIONS. Here he does the opening double ronde de jambe en l’air correctly pushing off from two feet (in a later tape he does it like “Dewdrop” stepping over and pushing from one leg).

And am I glad to see he does all the battú on the side sissones. That always seems the hardest to do"

I must say that young dancers dancing this most demanding role nowadays could learn and profit a lot from this comment!
