Vienna State Opera: Press Conference - April 3rd, 2019
The Vienna State Opera presents its 2019/2020 season – 58 different operas, 21 ballets!
Vienna State Opera's Director Dominique Meyer, Ballet Director Manuel Legris and Managing Director Thomas W. Platzer held a press Conference on Wednesday April 3rd, 2019, at which they announced the programme for the forthcoming 2019/2020 season.
There will be 21 different ballets (in ten full-length compilations).
This platform is a Ballet one. For further information about the Opera programme please visit the official State Opera's Website: https://www.wiener-staatsoper.at/
Ballet Director Manuel Legris will be presenting three premières at the Vienna State Opera next Season:
George Balanchine’s Jewels with Emeralds, Rubies and Diamonds (November 2nd, 2019; conductor: Paul Connelly)
the three-part performance of Lukács | Lidberg | Duato (March 4th, 2020 – conductor: Fayçal Karoui) with Movements to Stravinsky by András Lukács, Between Dogs and Wolves by Pontus Lidberg (world première) and White Darkness by Nacho Duato
and the 2020 Nureyev Gala (June 25th, 2020 – conductor: Kevin Rhodes). Definitely a „sad occasion“ for all Balletomanes: This will be Manuel Legris' final show after 10 years directing the Vienna State Ballet at the Vienna State Opera.
After the next Ballet press Conference, I expect to give you more information, also about the Ballet programme at the Vienna Volksoper!
