Gala: „Maestro & Stars des Balletts“ (July 2nd, 2022, Theater Akzent, Vienna)
Igor Zapravdin and I met for an informal lunch last April - we wanted to talk about this upcoming Gala!
As usual we not only talked about what we had planed to do but about so many other subjects…
And this is a good thing!
A Gala: I do believe that a Gala is and should be a celebration – and this time particularly, a big celebration is called for.
Yes. Let us celebrate Igor Zapravdin and his contribution to the World of Art.
It is time for this well-deserved celebration of Igor Zapravdin's 30 years intensive, meticulous, inexhaustible and profound work at the Vienna State Opera.
Not only as a répetiteur, not only for his innumerable appearances on stage in key roles and performances whenever a piano and music are needed on stage but also for his musical contribution, this immense musical gift silently and humbly made to the audiences - and which sometimes the audiences are not even aware of.
What would have been of Legris' „Le Corsaire“ without Maestro's - as he is lovingly called - deep knowledge, inputs and understanding of Minkus? I ask you this...
Mr Zapravdin's „road“ is a very special one for it not only combines infinite dedication with virtuosity but it is underlined all its way with love. Love for Music. Love for Art. Love for Ballet. And as said about him: This is my life!
Remarkable. „Chapeau“ - and in deep respect!
